Schema Markup: Speaking Google’s Native Language
Why Google Loves JSON-LD
Google is an algorithm, not a human. It guesses what your content means. Schema Markup (JSON-LD) removes the guesswork.
You explicitly tell Google: “This is a Product. It costs $50. It has 4.8 stars.”
Essential Schemas for 2025
1. Organisation & LocalBusiness
Every site needs this on the homepage. Define your logo, social profiles, and customer service contacts.
2. Article & BlogPosting
For content. Define the headline, image, datePublished, and author. This renders your articles in Google Discover.
3. FAQPage
The CTR Hack. Mark up your FAQ section with schema. Google often displays these questions directly in the search results, expanding your pixel real estate and pushing competitors down the page.
4. Course / Event / Product
If you sell anything, mark it up. Rich snippets (stars, prices, dates) draw the eye. A #3 ranking with stars often gets more clicks than a #1 ranking without them.
Implementation
Don’t use plugins that bloat your site. Inject the JSON-LD script directly into the <head> of your Astro or Next.js layout.
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Organization",
"url": "https://www.inoconnect.com",
"logo": "https://www.inoconnect.com/logo.png"
}
</script>
Speak clearly to the machine, and it will reward you.
